Balint Damosy, a lawyer, wine enthusiast and WSET diploma student at the time, realized during his wine and spirit studies that his true passion is the juniper flavoured spirit. “Never in our life have we distilled or even produced any alcoholic beverages, but after 2 years of self-teaching, reading, travelling, tasting (drinking) and testing we realized that this dream is not unreachable.“

After two years of planning, preparation and hard work, 17 April 2018 was the turning point of our gin distillery project. On that day we received the bonded warehouse distilling license as the first genuine micro-gin distillery in Hungary. It allowed us to distil gin using neutral grain spirit and natural botanicals and spices. Reviving the forgotten tradition of distilleries within the city walls of Budapest, we installed our distillery in a warehouse on the premises of the former Hungarian Cotton Factory (established in 1882) in the 4th district.
From the very first moment the mission was clear: to accomplish the highest quality without denying the provenance of the gin. Therefore, our gin meets not only the standards of a London Dry Gin, but summons noble traditional Hungarian taste notes. When choosing the signature botanical for our well-guarded recipe, we were looking for an ingredient which underlines the origin of our gin, but also provides a unique flavour and aroma profile not yet really familiar to gin drinkers.
